SKI & RIDE

Wolf Creek Ski Area is a short 25 minutes away, and is best in class if you are looking for fresh Colorado powder. There are a variety of trails for the whole family, from rolling groomers to hike-in only steeps and chutes.

Wolf Creek receives over 450" of natural snow annually, due to its unique placement just a few yards east of the Continental Divide. Bluebird days abound, providing abundant family photo opportunities!

The Wolf Creek Lodge and Pathfinder Bar and the Raven's Nest are a must stop for a burger or soup and a regional beer on tap. The Continental has the best espresso in the San Juans, tell Ernie we sent ya!

HIKE

Hundreds of miles of hiking/backpacking trails abound in the San Juan National Forest, surrounding Pagosa Springs on nearly 3 sides.

Pick a leisurely stroll in the morning before coffee. Maybe you and the kids could take a day hike. If you are really feeling adventurous, gather your gear and family or friends, and set off for a multi-day hike through the breathtaking beauty of the San Juans!

Mountain vistas, high alpine lakes teeming with fish, fourteeners that keep snow on their peaks year-round; all of these things are accessible mostly on foot. Remember, pack out what you pack in; leave nature better than you found it.
